friction can give rise to something cathartic and unexpected. Formed by Madison Velding-
VanDam and Jason Gates in 2017, and with the addition of Yasmeen Night in 2021, The
Wants’ sound is defined by the push and pull of its members’ processes: floating rhythms
upheaving grounded songwriting, pulsing synths overwhelming live instrumentation.
Their new record, Bastard, is an evolution of many of the seeds planted in their debut
record, Container (2020), with a refined sense of acerbic emotional urgency and sonic
experimentation.

Following successful performances in the Bregenzerwald, this is now the ‘return visit.’ Sepp Messner Windschnur has been shaping South Tyrolean dialect music for over 50 years and enjoys cult status with songs such as ‘Beppo del Trentin.’ Hanskaspas Enkel – Ulli Troy, Richard and Jos Natter – combine humour, dialect and a love of performing to create a mix of cabaret and music. Marco (Rufio) on drums is not only responsible for the rhythm, but also writes the band's own songs. Matteo on bass has his roots in punk and metal rock, which are undeniable at times. Stephanie (Steffi), lead guitarist, never fails to amaze not only the audience with her creative solos. Christian, the grandpa on rhythm guitar and harmonica, was the last member to join the band.
