Daniele Patton – batteria Nuwe Lewe is an Afrikaans expression meaning “new life.” With this name, the trio, composed of tenor saxophone, double bass, and drums, wants to evoke a journey outside of urban life and everyday routine, with the intention of reestablishing an authentic connection with nature in its purest forms.
Their music is minimalist and characterized by free improvisation, intended as a means of exploring new sonic horizons: the melodies are essential and intertwine with intense rhythmic grooves whose repetition creates a profound ritualistic character. Music is a way to rediscover those precious details that are often ignored in the hustle and bustle of everyday life: sounds, words, colors, and landscapes, long neglected, can be renewed and regain a whole new life.
